Filming Diary

19th November 2014

Today I planned to go to South Cave Quarry to get my test shots. I went at 5:00pm as this was the only available time I could go. However by this time it was dark, as a result, this caused a problem for my test shots as they did not appear with the best quality possible. I will have to reschedule when to take my tests shots but this time I will take the test shots in the daylight in order to establish the setting and location.

26th November 2014

Today I went to South Cave Quarry in order to take my test shots. I went at roughly 3:00pm as it was still light outside; this allowed me to take my test shots more accurately. Also I will be filming my final music video during the day time therefore this will help me again an idea of what my music video will look like in daylight.

6th December 2014
I have chosen to shoot my first shoot on the 6th December, I have contacted Hannah Morice and she is also able to make this date. I am going to capture all the scenes with Hannah Morice in. I am going to shoot all the shots of Hannah on Saturday 6th December. The filming session will start at 1pm however I am unaware how long it will last; a problem with this may be that it gets darker a lot quicker in the evenings therefore me and Hannah need to get as much of the filming done on during the daytime to make the most of the lighting. Hannah also has a strict schedule as she has to be in Hull for later on that night therefore I need to complete (if not all) of my filming on Saturday. Me and Hannah were having a discussion about how she would get to South Cave as she lives in Elstronwick. We came to the conclusion that she will get the train from Elstronwick to Hull to Brough where I will pick her up and bring to South Cave Quarry: I am paying for her train. As we struggled to organise getting Hannah to South Cave, we obviously had to plan how to get Hannah home. Luckily, Hannah has to be in Hull on the night as she is staying at her friends house therefore I will drive her to Hull in order for her to get to her friends house on time. I have also checked what the weather will be like on Saturday 6th December, here are my results:

I checked www.metoffice.gov.uk for these weather forecasts, they show that the weather on Saturday 6th December is going to be mild winds, mostly dry however with frost and fog patches. There may be rain moving southeastwards Thursday night and Friday therefore this may lead after effects on Saturday morning.  On Saturday night, it will be cold, and clearer conditions, following with showers, some turning wintry.

I also checked the weather forecast on BBC weather. I decided to check two different weather websites, in order to get a more accurate idea as to what the weather will be like on my filming date (6th December). On  the BBC weather website, it says that from 12:00pm to 3:00pm on Saturday 6th December, it will be a sunny day, only reaching 6 degrees.

Firstly, I met Hannah and Holly at Brough Train Station at 1:15pm where I drove them back to my house in order to get dressed for the shooting. It took Hannah roughly an hour to apply her make-up and her contacts and put on her dress as well as reading the storyboard and the lyrics of my song. I then drove to South Cave Quarry which took us roughly 5 minutes, where we set up our location for filming (forest). We filmed every scene with Hannah in forest; we used the tracking as well as the hand held camera. We then went out on to the quarry where I took a couple of shots of Hannah over looking the quarry.
